"A sin for him desire within... A burning veil for the bride too dear for him... Fall in love with your deep dark sin."
Interpretation of the song She Is My Sin by Nightwish. The rose is reference to the line "in the meadow of sinful thoughts every flower's a perfect one" and the rest of the image is based on the chorus. Am generally pleased with this although the veil turned out kind of weird - it's meant to be charred as if burnt. Also the pearls on her head are crap. I really like my shading on her skin but the photo's made it appear more washed out than the original. The woman's not meant to be Tarja or Anette, she's just one of my generic Gothic princesses - the look on her face is supposed to be seductive, not sure if I've pulled it off or not!
Done in a mix of ordinary Derwent colouring pencils and watercolour ones. A3 size.
Now it's time for August 2008 Visual Art Features, many new art to discover!
Don't forget that many artists need to be viewed, they deserve it! Fave Fave Fave! My main purpose in doing a monthly feature about (to my point of view) 'the best visual art' is to put in the same level as well wellknown artists and popular creations as unknown artists and under-exposed creations. Artists need to be supported. So don't be shy!
