I was gobsmacked at how well this turned out! I couldn't decide whether to put it in drawings or paintings but it was done in watercolour pencils; my first proper attempt with them. If you don't know already, this is Chaos, a monster made out of water that Eggman tries to use to destroy Station Square, from Sonic Adventure DX in the form he takes after he's eaten two of the Chaos Emeralds. The outline was copied from a 2D picture but I tried to colour him using the watery 3D image used in the game which was pretty difficult.
I realise his legs are too short but I was too lazy to re-draw the whole thing, and I'm not sure about the white spots (although he had them on the image I copied) but overall I'm dead chuffed at how bold and vibrant this looks.
The photo's crap but the background is the lyrics to the game's main theme song, Open Your Heart (amazing song!)
Wow! I do love this! Not only is ana amazing image, esp. with shading, you also have the patience of serveal saints for persevering with watercolouring pencils and doing the background writing!

Now it's time for August 2008 Visual Art Features, many new art to discover!
Don't forget that many artists need to be viewed, they deserve it! Fave Fave Fave! My main purpose in doing a monthly feature about (to my point of view) 'the best visual art' is to put in the same level as well wellknown artists and popular creations as unknown artists and under-exposed creations. Artists need to be supported. So don't be shy!
Here's the Menu per Category :
Digital Paintings & Drawings | Mixed Media | PhotoManipulations | 3-Dimensional | Vector & Vexels | Photography | Traditional Paintings & Drawings | Artisan Crafts
